Find the Perfect Class – From Tiny Twirls to Little Leaps!

Ballet classes for toddlers

Mummy and Me

“Mummy and Me” is offered to younger children, aged between 15 months and 3.5 years. It gives Mum (or the primary care giver) an opportunity to join in and share their child’s experience.

The classes are not yet themed, however there is an emphasis on use of props and imagery, songs and dancing to music, musical response through movement, basic movement co-ordination of gross motor skills and a minor introduction to a couple of ballet steps.

The environment is relaxed and friendly, with no set costuming and no obligation for little ones to continuously participate. The children are encouraged to participate, working closely with their primary care giver, giving them a sense of security and confidence.

The hope is that the “Mummy and Me” program will be a foundation for the Kinderballet program if they choose to continue.

Just like Kinderballet, there are NO enrolment fees, and NO costumers to make or buy.

If you have younger ones to look after (that are too young to participate), you’re welcome to bring them along.

Kinderballet Class Information

Kinderballet™

Kinderballet™ is for children who are ready to take instruction from a teacher and work independently of their parent. Children are introduced to the idea of working in a group under the guidance of a teacher.

The program aims to present a ballet class in a way that will keep a small child’s interest by having fun and being imaginative.

Classes are designed around a single theme each term, giving children the chance to settle into a familiar routine. This consistency helps them feel secure while also allowing them to develop important movement skills through repetition.

Each theme is brought to life with a strong narrative that keeps little ones engaged, making learning feel like play. While we focus on creating a fun and positive experience, we’re also passionate about teaching the foundations of dance. This sets us apart from activities that are purely for entertainment or change their content every week.

Our approach ensures that children not only have a great time but also build real skills along the way.

Next Steps and Aspirant

Next Steps and Aspirants Kinderballet

Following on from the preschool Kinderballet™ programs, Next Steps is developed to be an inspiring, challenging and fun approach to learning classical ballet. Expressing stories through movement – experiencing great traditional classical ballets, inspiring individual response to music and dancing.

Developing basic classical ballet technique and increasing the range of ballet steps and the ways in which to execute them. The emphasis is still on your child’s enjoyment without neglecting the importance of laying solid foundations of dance tuition.

Following on from the Next Steps programs, Aspirants is developed to be the next stage in learning classical ballet. Unlike Next Steps, Aspirants doesn’t follow a class theme, but follows the structure of a traditional ballet class with barre work and centre practice.

While the class largely focuses on Classical ballet technique and building on the foundations laid by the previous levels to increase the repertoire of steps, the class is a recreational ballet class for those children wanting to experience a ballet class once a week. There is an element of creative movement within the program, to allow for freedom of expression and children’s own ability to think creatively. Along with set dances, the children will also have opportunities to develop their own choreographic skills within the class.
